Tin Hat Day was also a big success with over 70 players this year and was won by a ladies side led by Debbie Brooking with Gloria Stuart & Millie Patrick, well done ladies.
Then the Longs Vs Shorts. There were some doubtful selections this year and the shorts were way too good. The “Little Pebble” Roy Stone gave it to his rival Rod Vial all day (and still)
Pennants season is just around the corner so anyone wishing to play—please put your name on the list in the bowls office.
A note to remember: Any bowler who puts his name down to play and doesn’t turn up without contacting the organizer for the day will be called to front the committee. Our volunteers spend a long time organizing games and cards, when someone pulls out or fails to show it throws out a lot of work & puts people out as well. It is also suggested you don’t put anybody else’s name up.
Hopefully 2011 will be a great year for us and we will be trying some new ideas.
Public holiday bowls will continue if interest is still there.
Until next year I would like to wish all members a merry xmas and prosperous New Year from the Men’s Bowling Club Committee and myself.
